The long awaited BBMA was last night. It has been at least 5 years since the last one. Rihanna opened up the show with her red hair, long red fingernails, white body suit, and thigh high white stiletto boots. Rihanna had men coming up all out of the floor dooring her S&M performance. Britney Spears joined Rihanna during the performance, also wearing a body suit, but looking more like one of Hugh Hepner's bunnies. Ri-Ri and Brit both freaked the pole during the performance and ended it with a pillow fight. Rihanna received several awards for the night and received a standing ovation from Jay-Z for the Digital Artist of the year award. Rihanna also received the Female Artist of the Year award. Congratulations Rihanna!
The first award of the night went to Taylor Swift. She won the 200 Album Artist of the Year Award. Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" album is reportedly the first album by a woman to sell more than a million albums in a week.
Ne-Yo had an outstanding performance with rapper Pitbull. I've always liked Ne-Yo's music but never really paid attention to him. Girls Ne-Yo looks like he has big feet and possibly a third leg. What do you think?
Justin Bieber had a fantastic night, he received the Fan Favorite Award and right before going to receive his award for Top New Artis he kissed Selena Gomez on the lips. Bieber's mom was sitting next to Selena and although he thanked her for putting up with him, he didn't give his mom a kiss, not even on the cheeks. So what's with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez? Congratulations Justin Bieber!
So who had the best performance of the night? Cee-Lo defied gravity. Mary J. Blige and Nicki Minaj got down. The Black Eyed Peas dancers had a hell of a choreography. Beyonce received the Billboard Millenium Award from her mother, how precious. But before doing so Beyonce performed her new hit single Run the World (Girls) live. Beyonce had an army of girls on stage dancing. It was almost like the million man march but with a gagillion girls (ladies). The ladies floored the stage. Their outfits were nice and everyone was in coordination. I have to give it to Beyonce though because her dancers were great but they could not out dance her. Many celebrities have commented on Beyonce's performance and she has received nothing but rave reviews. I think Beyonce's performance was phenomenal. Congratulations Beyonce! Speaking of dancing it had been previously announced that Jennifer Lopez would be performing then that was changed. The only citing of JLo during the BBMA was on a Loreal makeup commercial. With all the body suits that were worn the Gillette Venus razor commercial probably would have been more appropriate. Anyway, up until a few days prior to the BBMA, Billboard announced that Jennifer Lopez's husband Marc Anthony would be a presenter but that did not happen either. As we all know Jennifer Lopez is a judge on American Idol. When Beyonce's Run the World video world premiered on Idol a lot of dedicaed JLo fans felt that Beyonce used some of JLo's dance moves in the video. I didn't see it then, nor did I see it last night. Let me set the record straight.There is one dance move that they both do, however the group TLC done it first when their Crazy Sexy Cool album was hot. That being said the dance is old and has been made popular again through the commercials of the dance videos for game systems. So no one stole anyone's moves in either of the videos or performances. If you are going to blame anyone then blame the choreographers for coming up with the routine. Anyone near JLo's age is very familiar with the dance.
With the picnic style fold up chairs, it was a night of thigh high stiletto boots and body suits.
